I was born in Stoke-on-Trent and grew up in Newcastle–under–Lyme. I felt  the call to ministry as a teenager and although I started to preach at the age of fifteen I decided that I would follow my dream of becoming a doctor.I studied medicine at Manchester for two years before completing my clinical training at Keele University. Sarah and I had met as teenagers and it was during my training we married. I entered medicine with the noble aim of saving people’s lives and that was fine until I realised that all of my patients would one day die. The only way that I could save people was to tell them of the amazing love that God has for them.Regardless of who we are, where we’re from and what we’ve done God loves us! That saves lives. I had never lost my sense of call to Ordained Ministry and so seven years after starting as a Junior Doctor I candidated. I was accepted to train part-time for 3 years at the Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham. During this time I became a Staff Grade Doctor. The last 18 months of medicine were spent working at Consultant level in Emergency Medicine, something which I still love.I entered full-time ministry as a probationer in 2015. Along the way Sarah and I have had two children Miriam and Joel. I am passionate about empowering people to share their faith stories and enabling the churches I serve to undertake life changing Mission and Evangelism.
